HOW TO

CABINET CARE & CLEANING

CARED FOR PROPERLY, YOUR HENRYS CUSTOM CABINETRY WILL REMAIN BOTH BEAUTIFUL AND FUNCTIONAL FOR MANY YEARS TO COME. OUR FINE WOOD WORK  HAS BEEN FINISHED WITH M.L. CAMPBELLS'S LASTEST GENERATION PRODUCT THAT COMBINES EUROPEAN TECHNOLOGY WITH NORTH AMERICAN INGENUITY AND STYLE.
COMMON HOUSEHOLD CONTAMINANTS SUCH AS FINGERPRINTS, COOKING FUMES, SMOKING RESIDUE, ETC THAT BUILD UP ON ANY FINISHED SURFACES WILL NOT HARM OUR FINISH, BUT SHOULD BE PERIODICALLY REMOVED TO RESTORE THE FINISH TO ITS ORIGINAL LUSTER. JUST WIPE THE SURFACE WITH A CLOTH DAMPENED WITH A MILD DETERGENT SOLUTION OR A NON-WAX CONTAINING POLISH. FOLLOWED BY A DRY CLOTH TO REMOVE ANY EXCESS MATERIALS USED. AVOID THE USE OF AMMONIA BASED PRODUCTS OR SILICONE OILS AS THEY MAY CAUSE DAMAGE IF USED OVER A PERIOD OF TIME.
THE FINISH IS DURABLE AND RESISTANT TO MOST HOUSEHOLD SPILLS. HOWEVER, SPILLS SHOULD BE WIPED UP PROMPTLY TO AVOID POTENTIAL PROBLEMS.
EXCESSIVE PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT, HIGH TEMPERATURES, AND HIGH HUMIDITY CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO BOTH THE FINISH AND THE WOOD ITSELF. THESE SHOULD BE AVOIDED

BASIC INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1) INSTALLATON BEGINS GENERALLY BY REMOVAL OF ALL DOORS AND DRAWERS FROM CABINET BOXES TO BE INSTALLED THAT DAY. REMEMBER TO KEEP TRACK OF ACTUAL PLACEMENT PER EACH CABINET OF THESE ITEMS  AS THEIR LOCATION IS PRE DETERMINED DURING ASSEMBLY AT HCC.
2) NEXT DETERMINE THE HIGH SPOT OF THE AREA WHERE CABINETS ARE TO BE INSTALLED. THAT MAY BE THE LOCATION YOU WISH TO START.

3) ADEQUATE SPACER BLOCKS MAY NEED TO BE ADDED TO CABINET BOTTOMS AT CORNERS AS DESIRED IF INSTALLING BEFORE THICKER PRE-FINISHED FLOORING (CERAMIC TILE, PRE-FINISHED HARDWOOD, LAMINATE TYPE, ETC). IF FINISH FLOOR IS ALREADY IN  PLACE, SKIP THIS STEP.
4) AT THIS TIME BEFORE PLACEMENT YOU MAY ALSO WISH TO CUT OUT ROUGH OPENINGS FOR ANY ITEMS NEEDED. FOR EXAMPLE TOE KICK REGISTERS, TOE KICK HEATERS, VAC-U-PANS, ETC.

5) CLAMP & SCREW CABINETS TOGETHER AT FACE FRAMES. BASE CABS FLUSH AT TOP OR UPPER CABS FLUSH AT BOTTOM EDGES.
6) LOCATE ANY WALL CUT OUTS (PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, ETC.) BY LEVELING ACROSS FROM CABINET TOP HIGH POINT FOR THE HORIZONTAL CENTER LINE MEASUREMENT, AND THE SIDE OF LAST CABINET FOR THE VERTICAL CENTER LINE MEASUREMENT. FOR THIS MEASUREMENT KEEP IN MIND ALLOWANCES FOR FACE FRAME SIDE OVERHANGS.

7) TRANSFER THOSE MEASURMENTS TO DESIRED CABINET BACK. DRILL OR CUT OUT HOLES AS NEEDED. THE FINISHED APPEARENCE IS AT INSTALLERS DISCRETION.
8) ONCE YOU GET TO A POINT WHERE YOU THINK CABINETS NEED TO BE ANCHORED IN PLACE. EITHER WHEN ALL ARE ATTACHED IN A SECTION OR ALONG ONE WALL BEFORE A CORNER IS TURNED. ALIGN THE BASE CABINETS ALONG THE BOTTOM RAIL OF THE FACE FRAME.

9) YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO VERIFY HOW LEVEL FROM FRONT TO BACK YOUR CABINETS ARE. GENERALLY STARTING AT ONE END, AND THAT THE BACK IS NOT HIGHER THAN THE FRONT.
10) START TOE NAILING CABINETS TO THE FLOOR AT EACH CABINET JOINT OR AS NEEDED. MAKING SURE CABINETS STAY ALIGNED DURING TOE NAILING PROCESS.

11) NEXT, ALIGN CABINETS AT THE TOP RAIL OF THE FACE FRAME USING SHIMS BETWEEN NAILING CLEAT AND THE WALL. KEEP IN MIND BEST RESULTS ARE WHEN SHIMS ARE PLACED ON STUD FRAMING IN WALLS. THIS IS ALSO WHERE CABINETS ARE ATTACHED THROUGH NAILING CLEATS TO WALL STUDS.
BE SURE TO USE PROPER LENGTH FASTENERS WHEN PENATRATING SURFACES SUCH AS WALLS, FLOORS, OR CEILINGS. TOO LONG OF FASTENERS MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO PLUMBING OR ELECTRICAL ITEMS BURIED BEHIND SURFACES. OR TOO SHORT WILL NOT PROPERLY HOLD CABINETS IN PLACE.
12) ONCE BASE CABINETS ARE INSTALLED, THEN WALL CABINETS CAN BE STARTED. CABINET JACKS MAY BE USED OR   CUTTING MATERIAL TO CORRECT LENGTH FOR SPACING OFF BASE SUB TOP. ATTACH WALL CABINETS THROUGH NAILING CLEAT AT TOP OF INTERIOR COMPARTMENT. ALSO ATTACHING EACH CABINET BOX TOGETHER AT FACE AS YOU GO.

13) NEXT SHIM IF GAPPED, THEN A SCREW FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT, IS ADDED TO NAILING CLEAT UNDER CAB BOX EXTERIOR.
MAKE SURE ALL UPPER CABINET FASTENERS   USED TO ATTACH TO WALLS, DIRECTLY PENATRATE  INTO WALL FRAMING. ALSO USING PROPER LENGTHS OF FASTENERS IS REQUIRED.
14) ONCE CABINET BOXES ARE INSTALLED, CLEAN ALL CABINET INTERIORS OF DUST AND DEBRIS.

15) RE ASSEMBLE ALL DOORS AND DRAWERS TO INSTALLED CABINET BOXES AS REQUIRED.
16) AT THIS TIME APPLY ANY FINISHED ENDS AS NEEDED. AFTER FINISHED FLOOR COVERINGS ARE INSTALLED, THEN APPLY TOE KICKS, BASE SHOE & SCRIBE MOULDINGS AS DESIRED.

* INSTALLATIONS SHOULD BE PREFORMED BY ONLY LICENCED PROFESSIONALS, AND ANY TECHNIQUES DESCRIBED ABOVE ARE DONE SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. ANY BODILY INJURY OR DAMAGE CAUSED BY IMPROPER INSTALLATION OR TECHNIQUES ARE AT YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY.
